ShowsTonight.com is free search engine for concerts and events. The site has been around since 2002 (originally called SceneKids.com) and was originally a social networking site for local Florida musicians to network with other musicians as well as fans. Being both a musician and a fan of music myself, the site filled a void for me personally. Unfortunately, the original concept for the site was squashed when the big gun that is MySpace came around. For the record, I still claim to have come up with the idea first (MySpace started in 2003). Anyway, I'm not bitter, but the site did need to get reinvented. That reinvention came in 2006 when I decided that instead of trying to compete with the giant, I would simply change my business model. That new business model was serving up concert listings for a particular ZIP code. The site was fast, ugly and had a lot of search options that no one ever used. The site was later revamped in 2008 to give it a clear more modern look as well as hone the search options based on what people were actually using on the site. The new site is extremely streamlined and gets you, the user exactly what you need without a lot of clicks. The site's still pretty new, so if you run into any problems, feel free to report them with the form below. Also, if you'd like to donate to the site, that would be great to (just contact me for my PayPal address). Any and all feedback (but mostly positive) is greatly appreciated. In fact, since the site was converted to be a search engine, there has been no way to get in touch with me, so I'm hoping there's at least a few positive comments that have been waiting in queue.
